Who we are
My Book of Mormon is published by Vivid Vision Designs Ltd ("we", "us", or "our").
We are based in the United Kingdom.
If you have any questions about this policy or your privacy, you can contact us at:

The app collects no personal data
We want to be as clear as possible: we do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information from anyone who uses this app — including children.
The app:
- has no user accounts, sign-in, registration, or profiles;
- never asks for a name, email address, date of birth, photograph, postal address, or phone number;
- contains no analytics software, no advertising software, no crash-reporting software, and no third-party SDKs of any kind;
- shows no advertising of any kind;
- does no tracking — there is no advertising identifier (IDFA), no App Tracking Transparency prompt, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking;
- requests no device permissions at all — it does not access location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendar, health data, Bluetooth, or your local network;
- sends no push notifications;
- has no chat, messaging, comments, sharing, social features, or user-generated content;
- has no links out to other websites or apps; and
- has no servers, database, or back-end run by us. The app works fully offline once installed and makes no network requests except to Apple's App Store system (StoreKit) when you choose to make a purchase.
All story text, narration, artwork, quiz questions, and videos are included inside the app when you download it.
What is saved on your device (and only your device)
So the app can work nicely, it saves a few simple settings and progress markers on your device only, using the standard iOS storage that every app has (called "UserDefaults"). This information never leaves your device, is never sent to us, and cannot be used to identify anyone. It includes:
- the last page you were on in each story, so you can pick up where you left off;
- which stories have been marked as favourites;
- best completion times for the memory game and the sliding puzzle, for each difficulty level;
- the best answer streak in the quiz;
- how many free game rounds have been played today, together with today's date (to manage the daily free allowance);
- your sound and music preferences (for example page-turn sounds, button sounds, game music on/off, music volume, sound effects, mute, and the press-and-hold-to-unmute setting); and
- a simple flag noting whether the Pro subscription is currently active.
Because this is stored only on the device, deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.
Children's privacy (COPPA, UK GDPR and EU GDPR-K)
This app is designed for children, and protecting them matters deeply to us.
We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children — or from anyone else. Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to disclose, use, sell, or share.
- United States (COPPA): The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") governs the online collection of personal information from children under 13. Because we collect no personal information from any user, we do not collect personal information from children under 13, and no verifiable parental consent is required. If you believe we have somehow received personal information from a child, please contact us and we will look into it.
- United Kingdom (UK GDPR & the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code / "Children's Code"): We follow a "privacy by default and by design" approach. The app is built so that no personal data is processed at all, which is the strongest possible protection for children.
- European Union (GDPR, including Article 8 / "GDPR-K"): GDPR Article 8 sets the age of digital consent at 16 by default, and individual EU countries may lower this to no less than 13 (for example, it is 16 in Germany and the Netherlands, 14 in Austria and Spain, and 13 in Ireland and Sweden). Because we do not process any personal data, no consent under Article 8 is needed, whatever a child's age or country.
- Canada and everywhere else: The app is available worldwide, and the same protection applies in every country. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, anywhere, there is no personal data for children's privacy and data protection laws — such as Canada's PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, as well as similar laws in Australia, Brazil, and other countries — to govern. No parental consent is required anywhere, because there is nothing to consent to.
No selling, no sharing, no tracking
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any information about you or your child with third parties, because we don't have any to share. The app contains no third-party tracking or advertising technology.
Purchases and Apple's role
The app is free to download. Two of the eight stories are free, along with a small daily allowance of game rounds. You can optionally unlock everything with an auto-renewing subscription called "My Book of Mormon Pro" (£1.99/month in the UK, $2.99/month in the US, and the equivalent price elsewhere).
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and your Apple Account. We never see, receive, or store your card number, billing address, or any payment details — Apple manages all of that. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Before the purchase screen and before "Restore Purchases", the app shows a parental gate: it asks you to confirm you are a grown-up by typing three numbers that are shown to you as words. This helps make sure a child doesn't buy anything by accident. (Note: this parental gate is a safety check to prevent accidental purchases; it is not, and does not need to be, a legal parental-consent step, because we collect no personal data.)
Information Apple provides to us
Even though the app itself collects nothing, Apple may give us some information about how the app is doing overall. This comes from Apple, not from the app, and only when a user has chosen to share it:
- Aggregated App Analytics (such as total downloads, number of sessions, crashes, and country-level totals), provided through App Store Connect. Apple provides this only where the user has agreed to share analytics with developers in their iOS settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers). It is aggregated and does not identify any individual person.
- Crash logs, on the same aggregated, non-identifying, opt-in basis.
- Sales and subscription reports from Apple, which contain no personal information — just totals and country/region figures.
We use this only to understand roughly how many people enjoy the app and to fix problems. We cannot use it to identify you or your child.
Keeping data and deleting it
Because the only information exists on your own device, you are always in control. To remove everything the app has saved, simply delete the app from your device. That erases all saved settings and progress. There is no account to close and no server-side copy for us to delete, because none exists.
If you have an active subscription, remember that deleting the app does not cancel the subscription — you manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions).
Your rights (such as UK GDPR and EU GDPR)
Data protection laws in the UK, the EU, and many other countries give people rights over their personal data, including the right to access it, to correct (rectify) it, and to erase it, among others.
Because we do not hold any personal data about you or your child, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or erase — and no data of yours that we could provide or delete on request. This is true wherever in the world you use the app. If you ever wish to ask us about this, you are welcome to contact us at appprivacy@vividvdesigns.com.
If you have a concern about how your data is handled, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk. In the EU, you can contact the data protection authority in your country. In Canada, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at https://www.priv.gc.ca.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and post the new version at the same web address where you found this one. If we ever make a significant change — for example, if a future version of the app were to collect any data — we will make that change clear and prominent before it takes effect.
